At 45, ‘The View’ cohost has already battled fertility issues with her first son Jeffrey, 7. But with a new husband and her sights set on another baby, Sherri is determined to do whatever it takes to make her dreams of expanding her family come true.
Sherri Shepherd brings big laughs every morning as a cohost on The View, but in her personal life, the comedienne and husband Lamar Sally, whom she married in August 2011, have been on an emotional journey to welcome another bundle of joy.
“I’m trying to have another baby you know, I’m still trying . . . still looking for a uterus,” she told Rachael Ray during a taping of her daytime talk show, which airs Oct. 1.
On the quest for the perfect surrogate, the comedienne offers a solid bargain.
“I’ll give you a free weave and a Hyundai for a year,” she joked.
The 45-year-old has been open about her struggles to get pregnant with her first child, son Jeffrey, now 7, from her previous marriage to ex-husband Jeff Tarpley. And the road to conceive is even tougher now that she’s older, but Sherri admits she’s not going to give up hope.
“I don’t know how we’re going to have this baby because I’m in my forties and I can’t even remember my first son’s name,” she said. “But I’m going to have another baby because I’m feeling good.”
