Seth MacFarlane Academy Awards

It’s official — Seth MacFarlane will host the Academy Awards,’s sister site DEADLINE exclusively reports. Are YOU excited? Read on for more details!

Seth MacFarlane, the mastermind behind Family Guy, American Dad, and The Cleveland Show has been tapped to host the 85th annual Academy Awards, the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences announced today.

“It now looks like MacFarlane’s hosting stint on Saturday Night Live‘s premiere for this fall season was a tryout for the telecast producers Craig Zadan and Neil Meron. He did well, especially during his standup where he sang and did voices and looked great and was thoroughly entertaining,” Nikki Finke of DEADLINE exclusively reports.

We LOVE that the Academy chose such a hilarious comedian to host the awards show this year.

I don’t know who Seth MacFarlane is, but that doesn’t matter because my family and I quit watching the Academy Awards a few years ago when it became a wasted evening of no talent people. They should save money and quit having the Academy Awards altogether. Put something on in its place that has dignity and quality (if there is anything).
