Selena’s new animated movie made record-breaking money during a HUGE opening weekend! To celebrate, she’s revealing her new music plans, including how she’s so excited to be writing her own songs.

Selena Gomez has been working so hard on her new music, and to celebrate the box office success of her new animated film Hotel Transylvania, she’s opening up about her upcoming project!

Selena, 20, leads the box office based on early projections, our sister site reports.

“Columbia’s fun pre-Halloween toon Hotel Transylvania (3,349 theaters) has a real shot at breaking $40M by end of Sunday,” the site wrote. “But its weekend cume is already a sure thing to beat the record for the all-time September opening (shattering Sweet Home Alabama‘s $35.6M but not adjusted for inflation or higher ticket prices or 3D’s premium).”

Selena recently spoke to Radio Disney about how thrilled she is to be back to recording new music.

“I actually just went into the studio two weeks ago for the first time. I’ve recorded five new songs so far for the record, and I’ve co-written a couple, which I’m really excited about because I’ve been able to do more of that — which is awesome!”

Are you seeing Hotel Transylvania this weekend, HollywoodLifers?
