Cory makes a triumphant return to ‘Glee’ on October 4 — and we can hardly wait! To tide you over, HollywoodLife.com’s sister site TVLine provides spoiler-ific scoop on Finn’s big comeback. Read on for all the details.

Cory Monteith is happy to be making a return to Glee on the October 4 episode, but things will be very different upon his reemergence.

Boot Camp

Aside from Finn’s return episode being titled “The Break Up,” Finn’s experience at boot camp is exposed — and it’s not pretty!

“I’ve never been called names like that before,” Cory told TVLine.com with a smile. “‘Wormstool’ is the one that sticks out in my memory.”

Reconnecting With Rachel

Following his army detour, Finn heads to New York City to evaluate his relationship with Rachel (Lea Michele). But is it too late? Finn has Brody (with his irresistible chiseled abs) to contend with. While Rachel and Finn’s outcome from “The Break Up” can’t be revealed, Corey promises the hour is very emotional for all involved.

Bromance With ‘Glee Project’ Winner Blake Jenner

Furthermore, Finn’s return marks a new role as a mentor to Glee Project winner Blake Jenner’s character — Ryder Lynn.

Their first scene together, a sequence to Foreigner’s “Juke Box Hero,” will be featured in the November 8 episode.

“It was cool, because I felt like I was passing the torch in a sort of awesome way,” Cory adds. “Ryder inadvertently auditions [for New Directions], and it turns into a fantasy in his head, which explodes into dancing girls, throngs of screaming women in the crowd, and he turns into the ‘Juke Box Hero.’ He’s on drums, and I’m on lead vocals. It’s epic.”

The Future

While Finn’s position in the Glee universe is very different this season, Corey is excited for what lies ahead!

“There’s still a part of me that’s nostalgic for sure,” he admits. But “all of the possibilities are really exciting.”

Are YOU excited for Finn’s return, HollywoodLifers?

I just watched the Makover episode. It was really good, but……. I thought was prepared for the Rachel/ Finn issues to come, but I just realized I don’t think I can take it!! If my reaction to tonights ending and the previews for next week are any indication, I need Finn and Rachel to get things all worked out. NOW!!! After the entire season 3 (which was my favorite, by the way) how can things change soooo much!! They are soulmates and she loves him. This whole Brody thing is really stupid. I can see she needs a friend at NYADA but she wouldn’t become romantically involved so soon and not without knowing where things stand with Finn. I always stood up for the writers when everyone else was a critic, but I’m so upset with this storyline. I will still watch if for nothing else than to see Lea sing, but I writers, you are breaking my heart!!!
