Robert Pattinson ‘Doesn’t Care’ About Being In ‘Fifty Shades Of Grey’ Movie

Wed, September 26, 2012 3:41pm EST by 26 Comments

For all those interested in seeing Rob perform some kinky sex scenes in the movie version of ‘Fifty Shades of Grey,’ you might not want to hold your breath!

Sources confirm EXCLUSIVELY to HollywoodLife.com that Robert Pattinson really has no interest in playing Christian Grey in a future film adaption of E.L. James‘ novel, Fifty Shades of Grey. How sad!

There has been plenty of talk that E.L. doesn’t want Rob to be in the film adaption of Fifty Shades of Grey, and there has also been an admission from Rob, 26, that when he talked to author Talia Soghomonian about the possibility of him starring in Fifty Shades Of Grey, he mentioned, “I think the author has written me out of it. I saw some interview earlier and they went, oh, it could never be him. And I’m like ,’Hey, I’m going to make you pay for that” And by paying for it, it now seems he is not even focusing any of his attention towards the project.

We spoke to a source EXCLUSIVELY about the chances of Robert Pattinson getting the steamy role of Christian Grey and it wasn’t very promising. “There isn’t even a script and it is still very much in development with Universal so he doesn’t even have it on his radar. His agents wouldn’t and haven’t even presented him with anything because nothing in the film has been remotely close to being completed. No script, no director, etc. Its a complete out of sight, out of mind situation,” adding “He is happy with his current career path and is not in any way bothered by talk of him being in that film. He just doesn’t care.”

Well, I guess we still can have our fingers crossed for Ian Somerhalder to win the role of Christian Grey.

So, HollywoodLifers, are you sad that Rob is not interested in Fifty Shades of Grey? Sound off below!

I think that’s just fine, becouse Rob doesn’t really fit in that kind of a role, where you are kind of the bad guy or something.

He seems kind of sour grapes since he heard he wasn’t being considered for the part. He’s alreday a part of a movie franchise with Twilight, it’s time to give someone else a chance and someone who is more suited to the role than he is. He’s never really been interested anyway since all he’s seemed to do is take digs at the book and the author. I don’t know any fans of the books who even remotely think he’d make a good Christian Grey. He’s a bit odd looking.

This is going to be a tricky role but Rob could pull it off, especially if he works with Cronenberg on it. Rob’s a gifted actor; Cronenberg’s a genius. And here’s my take on his “… make her [E.L. Jones] pay” comment: He’s teasing her – meaning like he’d make her pay the Christian Grey way! All in good fun.

This moive is pathetic to be film, it will be pornographic. Woman who’s love life is dry. E. L. James should be thankful for Bella and Edward and millions of dollars to her pocket. Who ever James choose to play the parts will not duplicate the characters on her fan fiction story.

Ian Somerholder is too old. I believe he’s 40. Now Matt Bomer from the show White Collar would be perfect. Rob really makes up his own mind on projects, and I read awhile back that he was not interested.

He never said he wanted to star in the movie. He made a joke about him hearing that the author said it would be too weird for him to be in the movie. He was kidding. How is this even an exclusive? Everybody knew this.

NO, NO , NO ,–I’m looking forward to movie and once thought Rob would be great but no longer appears confident, strong, masculine and sexy(sorry Rob lovers), but he would ruin the movie. Now Kristen on the other hand could pull it off, even though in the beginning of story she presents as innocent, in the end she will be in her comfort zone.

I read the original which was called “Master Of The Universe” and based on the characters Edward & Bella, and although they were supposed to be ‘them’ from Twilight, the story did not at all match the characters Rob and Kristen play. When I was reading it I saw Edward as a totally different person and personally I can’t see Rob in the part at all. I like Belle Ami a lot and thought he put on a really good performance, but he’s not hard enough looking to play a heel, seriously. I could not dislike him in Belle Ami, and the character in 50 Shades can be very dislikeable at times.
