Just when we thought Jef Holm and Emily Maynard‘s romance was the real deal — his alleged ex comes forward revealing the most scandalous secret about their relationship: it’s fake.

Kaylee Shepherd, who allegedly dated Jef before he went on The Bachelorette, has come forward to Us Weekly magazine claiming that Jef told her their relationship is just a business deal. After Jef and Emily’s alleged blow-out fight in August when Jef found her secret texts to another man, Jef allegedly gave the single mom an ultimatum.

“Emily told him ‘I’m so sorry’ and he said, ‘Well, we have two options: The first is I can go to the media and tell them the truth and let everyone know what you’re really like. Or two, I will deny the whole thing and you give me half the money you made from The Bachelorette,’” Kaylee, 21, tells the mag.

Emily reportedly chose the latter because “she doesn’t want to be the girl who has been engaged three time, but it hasn’t worked out,” an anonymous source tells the mag.

After telling him that he was “terrible,” Jef allegedly defended himself by saying that Emily was talking to a pro-football player the whole time and that they even tried counseling to make their engagement work.

“He said ‘No, I’m not! She strung me along and was talking to another guy the whole time!’ He said they went to counseling, but it didn’t work. I was like, ‘I need to leave,’” Kaylee tells the mag, after kissing him.

The next day they were supposed to hang out, but a Radaronline report claiming they were at Burger King allegedly frightened him.

If Kaylee is in fact telling the truth, Jef and Em are putting on quite the show to make it look like they’re happier than ever.Hmm!
