Taylor debuted a new song from her upcoming album ‘Red,’ titled ‘Begin Again,’ during the Sept. 24 episode of ‘Good Morning America.’ Read the lyrics and read on for more details!
Let the speculation begin! Taylor Swift loves to name names in her songs, but her latest single is a bit trickier — could it be about Garrett Hedlund? The country crooner explained the new song is about starting over after a failed relationship. Taylor reportedly dated the On The Road star a number of months after splitting from Jake Gyllenhaal. What do YOU think?
“So… If you want to, you can hear a preview of my new song ‘Begin Again’ from my new album #RED on @GMA tomorrow morning! Excited,” Taylor tweeted on Sept. 23.
After a brief introduction on Good Morning America, Taylor sings on the new song, “It’s strange you think I’m funny because he never did. I’ve been spending the last eight months thinking all love ever does is break, burn and end. But on a Wednesday in a cafe, we watched it begin again.”
Taylor will be sharing a new song from Red every Monday on GMA until the album’s release on Oct. 22.
Despite the heavy promotion, Taylor told Rolling Stone that she wanted the album to remain a mystery for fans. ”I really want there to be so many surprises left on the record for when it comes out eventually, some collaborations that haven’t been talked about and some songs that are definitely what make the album so unique,” she said.
“Begin Again” will be available for download on iTunes on Tuesday (Sept. 25) at 12:01 A.M. ET!
