Dancing With The Stars kicked off its first all-star season with six former champions and a new judging system. From Kirstie Alley kissing her partner Maksim Chmerkovskiy and host Tom Bergeron, to Pamela Anderson‘s emotional return, keep reading for a full recap!
The judges introduced half-points in the season premiere of the 15th season of DWTS! But that’s not all — there was tons of sex appeal and even a little One Direction! Check out all the highlights below!
Joey Fatone and partner Kym Johnson danced the Cha Cha Cha to “P.Y.T.” by Michael Jackson. Judge Len said it was “high energy, a spectacular start” while Carrie Ann said “that is the way to start off the all star season!” Len’s 7, Bruno’s 7 and Carrie Ann’s 6.5 gave them a total of 20.5.
Shawn Johnson and Derek Hough danced the Foxtrot to “Good Time” by Owl City and Carly Rae Jepsen. Bruno said the “precious little princess is now a floor scorcher!” Carrie Ann “loved it” with Len said at some points it didn’t look like a Foxtrot and that disappointed him. Len gave a 6.5, Bruno gave a 7.5 and Carrie Ann gave an 8 for a total of 22.
Sabrina Bryan and Louis Van Amstel danced the Cha Cha Cha to “What Makes You Beautiful” by One Direction! Carrie Ann said “You are on fire! But be careful because you sometimes over-dance. But you are incredible.” Len said that she needs “finesse” but said it was his favorite dance of the night. Bruno said he was very happy she was back. Carrie Ann scored a 7.5 , Len gave a 7.5 and Bruno a 7.5 for a total score of 22.5.
Helio Castroneves and partner Chelsie Hightower danced the Foxtrot to “Pride and Joy” by Marvin Gaye. Len said they should “be proud” of their performance. Bruno said that Helio had a “bright and engaging stage presence.” Carrie Ann wanted more body contact! Carrie Ann gave a 7, Len a 7.5, Bruno a 7 for a score of 21.5.
Pamela Anderson and partner Tristan MacManus danced the Cha Cha Cha to “You Know I’m No Good” by Amy Winehouse. Bruno said she needs to work harder to make it all the way. Carrie Ann said she needs to come back strong since we love watching her. Carrie Ann gave a 5.5, Len said 5.5, and Bruno 6 for a total of 17. Pam was super emotional after her performance!
Melissa Rycroft and partner Tony Dovolani danced the Foxtrot to “Big Spender.” Len said it was a little bit too theatrical while Carrie Ann wanted more body contact. 7’s across the board meant a score of 21.
Apolo Anton Ohno and partner Karina Smirnoff danced the Cha Cha Cha to “Party Rock Anthem” by LMFAO (RIP). Len said it wasn’t a gold medal performance. Bruno said “that looked great.” Carrie Ann said he got 3,000 times more sexy! Carrie Ann gave a 7.5, Len a 7 and Bruno a 7.5 giving them a 22 overall.
Gilles Marini and partner Peta Murgatroyd danced the Foxtrot to “Call Me Irresponsible” by Frank Sinatra. Bruno said it was “technically so good – can I see it again?” Carrie Ann “missed” Gillies. Len said it was sophisticated and terrific. Carrie Ann gave them an 8, Len gave an 8 and Bruno gave an 8 for the highest score so far, 24.
Bristol Palin and partner Mark Ballas danced the Cha Cha Cha to Blow Me “(One Last Kiss)” by Pink. Mom Sarah Palin was in the audience while son Tripp was plugging his ears! Carrie Ann voted her the most improved! Len said she was “far more confident.” Bruno said it’s all about “power and focus.” Carrie Ann’s 6.5, Len’s 6.5 and Bruno’s 6.5 gave the pair a 19.5 total. She looked the best she’s ever looked and was definitely more comfortable on the stage.
Drew Lachey and partner Anna Trebunskaya danced the Foxtrot to “Love Song” by Sara Bareilles. Drew’s brother Nick cheered him on from the audience. Len said it was “too hard.” Bruno said he had lots of energy and Carrie Ann said she wants to see him “firm but not rigid.” Carrie Ann gave a 7, Len gave a 7 while Bruno gave a 7.5 for a total of 21.5.
Kelly Monaco, the very first winner of DWTS, and partner Valentin Chmerkovskiy danced the Cha Cha Cha. Bruno said she was a stunner. Carrie Ann said they had insane chemistry! Len said it was terrific! Carrie Ann gave a 7, Len gave a 7 while Bruno gave a 7.5 for a total of 21.5.
Kirstie Alley and partner Maksim Chmerkovskiy danced the Foxtrot to “Set Fire To The Rain” by Adele. Carrie Ann said it was beautiful. Len said it needed refining. Carrie Ann gave a 6.5, Len a 6 and Bruno a 6.5 for a total of 19. Not only did Kirstie kiss Maksim at the end of their dance, but after they judging, she kissed host Tom! As she was waltzing away, she said, “that was for your Emmy!”
Season 3 champions Emmitt Smith and partner Cheryl Burke danced the Cha Cha Cha to “Chain of Fools” by Aretha Franklin. Len said it was the last dance of the evening and the best. Carrie Ann said Emmitt was born to dance! Carrie Ann gave an 8, Len gave an 8.5 while Bruno gave an 8 for a 24.5 — the highest score of the night!

YOU HAVE TO AGREE BRISTOL HAS IMPROVED THE MOST OF ALL OF THE ALL STARS. I DON’T KNOW WHY THE JUDGES GAVE HER SUCH LOW SCORES, EXCEPT THEY DON’T WOANT TO GIVE HER HIGHER SCORES TO ACCEPT THE FACT THEAAT SHE HAS EXCELLED THE MOST. THE OUTSIDE VOTERS WILL SHOW THEM THEY ARE WRONG
