Green Day should have been honored to play at the opening night of the iHeart Music Festival on Sept. 20, but instead, they used their time onstage to bash Justin Bieber! Watch and read on for more details!
Green Day’s Billie Joe Armstrong was peeved to find out that his band was being rushed off stage with a “one minute warning” at the end of their set during opening night of the iHeartRadio Music Festival.
“I’m going to play a f—ing new song,” Billie said upon seeing the warning. “F— this sh–. Gimme a f—ing break. One minute left. One minute f—ing left. You’re going to give me one minute.”
After claiming that Green Day has been around since 1988, Billie continued his tirade, making sure everyone knew him and his band shouldn’t be treated like newbies such as Justin Bieber (who wasn’t even at the show).
“I’m not f—ing Justin Bieber, you mother—-ers. You’ve got to be f—ing joking. I got one minute. One minute left. Now I got nothing left.”
What do YOU think, HollywoodLifers? Was Billie’s rant acceptable?
UPDATE: Billie Joe Armstrong has checked himself into rehab.

I don’t blame him for going off. I love Green Day! I saw them in concert and they played almost ALL their songs in 11 show…their encore was like 2 hours itself! You tell them Billie! You aren’t a newbie…and for the ones that have an issue with it…this is how a lot of bands talk at their shows. lol

This was totally necessary. Though they may not be the tip top musically creative structured band; Tey made a name for themselves slaving on the road to become the legends they are. Those who have never ever been to a punk or rock show for that matter; it’s totally casual to break things. It’s all for the name of punk rock and what the embody and if they are trying to keep their roots by doing such.. live and let be. Atleast they write from their hearts compared to many that are chainganged by producers and record labels… Look around your city and find artists that are slaving away trying to make a name for themselves as they are being masked and hidden away by so called ” top 40″ to which many kids are being afficionados of.

it sure the hell was! i stayed up late (btw i have an 18 month old who will be up at 6am) so i could watch them and only them. allowing usher to go 30 min over into green day time. why should green day get cut short then. and his point about justin bieber wasn’t bashing him but pointing out that the band he is a part of has been around longer than bieber has been alive. basically, they did what punk rock bands do. why be pissed that they did exactly what everyone knows he would do. gah.

I don’t blame him for getting mad like that, their time on stage was cut by 30 minutes for Usher. Billie’s proved he’s not some pussy who’ll do exactly what everyone tells him to, he’s a rockstar. I hope his wife, kids and all the Green Day fans out there are proud of him for standing up for himself and not taking any crap. Mentioning Justin Bieber was him just making a point, that’s all.
