Gwyneth graces the October issue of ‘In Style’ magazine and talks all about turning the big 4-0 and suffering from postpartum depression. Read on for ALL the details!
The 39-year-old — soon to be 40 — actress graces the October cover of the mag donning a purple, plunging get-up. Inside the mag, Gwyneth wore a beautiful black and white gown adorned with an oversized bow and a jeweled brooch.
While she totally looks gorgeous– she definitely doesn’t look like she’s about to turn 40! And according to the mag, she doesn’t feel like it either.
“I’m taking stock and really looking at everything. I’m trying to accept myself. There’s a Rumi poem, “The Guest House,” about welcoming in all aspects of yourself: The dark, the light, the jealous, the happy. Let them all in. But know that you’re not defined by any single one of them,” she tells In Style. “I’ve become much more serious after experiencing all the ups and downs of life—heartbreak, the death of people I love…These days I feel pretty grounded.”
But she hasn’t always felt at peace. Gwyneth revealed to the mag that she suffered from postpartum depression after giving birth to her second child, Moses Martin.
“When Apple was born, she had the hugest blue eyes. I looked into them, and she was looking at me, and I felt like, You are here to teach me everything. After [Moses] was born I had postpartum depression. It was a difficult time, and because of that I believe I have an extra empathy for him, and he for me,” she says.
