It’s a not-so-good morning for almost-vampire Elena. Watch the first official clip from season four here!

“Oh my God” doesn’t even begin to describe Elena’s (Nina Dobrev) reaction to discovering she’s dead, but it’s a pretty good start. In this new clip from the Oct. 11 season premiere of The Vampire Diaries, “Growing Pains,” Mystic Falls’ favorite doppelganger wakes up to find Stefan (Paul Wesley) and Damon (Ian Somerhalder) by her bedside — and they don’t have good news for her.

Well, I guess they have some good news, if you count Matt (Zach Roerig) surviving the car accident. But I have a feeling Elena will be a little too preoccupied to think about Matt for much longer.
