‘The Oranges’ actress is a stunning natural beauty, even without a swipe of makeup on — but does she agree? She got surprisingly honest about her body image and relationship with makeup at her New York movie premiere. Keep reading to see what she had to say!
Leighton Meester, 26, exuded wisdom beyond her years when she shared that she believes, “there’s no sense in trying to be or look like anyone other than yourself.” We love that her beauty confidence makes no apologies. Read on to hear about her great body philosophy!
Leighton’s beauty attitude involves completely embracing her natural look. “I don’t care if there are a million pictures of me with no makeup,” she shares. “I love being able to walk down the street without it. We should promote women not having to wear make-up, or at least feel we can go out without it.” This level of comfort is totally admirable.
Of course, this kind of confidence doesn’t come without a feeling the pressure of a few insecurities along the way. “I wish I was stronger and more flexible,” Leighton shares. “But I can always say, ‘I’d love my body if my legs were thinner, I’d love my hair if it were thicker.’ You can do things to change the way you look, but it’s good to just say, ‘I love myself in this moment.'” Right on, Leighton!
Leighton’s philosophy can be summed up quite easily in the question she proposes: “As soon as you stop getting pimples, you start getting wrinkles, so what’s there to be upset about?”
