‘Saturday Night Live,’ poked fun at Honey Boo Boo and Mama June during the weekend update segment, and asked for their take on politics! Watch the hilarious video.
When Saturday Night Live spoofs you, you know you’re certified pop culture gold — and Alana “Honey Boo Boo” Thompson and her mom June Shannon got the honors of being lampooned during the hilarious Weekend Update sketch on Sept. 15!
Weekend Update anchor (and SNL head writer) Seth Meyers brought on the stars of TLC’s Here Comes Honey Boo Boo: Mama, played by Bobby Moynihan, and Honey Boo Boo, played by Vanessa Bayer, for their take on politics. Needless to say, the conversation that ensued was hilarious.
Bobby was spot-on with his impression of Mama’s slurred speech and sluggish demeanor, even noting, “I just always look like a video that’s been paused in a weird spot.”
Vanessa channelled Alana’s sassiness, and gave her input on which political candidate she’s rooting for. “Like most Americans, I support whoever is the most glitzy, whoever’s got the prettiest hair, and whoever’s gonna to help me get some monneeeyy!” She added that politicians need to “drink their go-go juice,” and like her, tell off “no one in particular!”
Seth even joked about how the reality show uses subtitles, even though the family lives in Georgia speaks English!
