Kate Middleton: Sunbathing Topless Was A Bad Idea

Kate Middleton you’ve been photographed topless and French magazine ‘Closer’ has published the pics. It’s so sad BUT honestly Kate — you are too public a figure to go topless.

Kate Middleton, you are smart, beautiful, warm, and caring, BUT unfortunately, you were a little naive to think you could sunbathe topless.

Kate — you are possibly the MOST famous young woman in the world. You are a major target for paparazzi.

In fact, many royals have been caught topless before, like Prince William‘s mother, Princess Diana, as well as a long list of Royals, including: Princess Caroline of Monaco, Princess Stephanie of Monaco, William’s aunt, Sarah ‘Fergie’ Ferguson (the ex -wife of Prince Andrew), and Prince William’s other aunt, Sophie Rhys-Jones, who is married to his uncle, Prince Edward.

Then Kate, you just saw yourself how taking off your clothes when you’re a royal is NEVER a good idea. Prince Harry was caught this past Aug 21 in photos and video frolicking and playing billiards naked during a wild night at Las Vegas’ Wynn Hotel and Casino.

That’s why Kate, as annoying as it is to have to cover up, you HAVE to do it.

Kate Middleton Sunbathing Topless — No Place Is Safe

You can’t go out as you did even at a supposedly remote chateau in Provence, France owned by one of Queen Elizabeth‘s nephews, Lord Linley.

The pictures appear to be taken on a balcony and you and William are adorably and lovingly rubbing sun lotion on each other and you have your arms around each other.

In the best of all worlds, it would be wonderful if like many women, especially European women, you could enjoy the freedom of sunbathing topless. But unfortunately, you are a HUGE paparazzi target and photos of you au natural can command a huge price.

William And Kate’s Reaction To Photo Scandal

Now of course you are feeling “anger” and “disbelief,” according to a spokesman. Anyone, royal or not, would feel this way about such an enormous invasion of privacy.

“Their Royal Highnesses have been hugely saddened to learn that a French publication and a photographer have invaded their privacy in such a grotesque and totally unjustifiable manner,” according to a statement released by your aides. “The incident is reminiscent of the worst excesses of the press and paparazzi during the life Diana, Princess of Wales, and all the more upsetting to the Duke and Duchess for being so.”

This aspect of the awful situation just must be so hard for your loving husband, Prince William. He loved his mother, Princess Diana so much, and he has clearly wanted to protect you from the traumas that his mother experienced while she was hounded by the press.

Her death in a car crash during a paparazzi chase, is the nightmare that haunts him. So this privacy invasion must be all the more horrific for him.

And in fact, he looks grim in photos this morning in Kuala Lumpur, where you are on a Royal Tour.

But Kate, you and William are doing the right thing — carrying on bravely with your work on the Royal Tour and investigating your legal options against Closer, the French magazine, which published the pictures.

Why The Queen Has Never Been Caught Topless

Now listen to me and to Piers Morgan, Kate. Piers tweeted: “Of course Kate’s entitled to privacy, and this was a grotesque invasion, but sunbathing topless near a public road’s just daft,” and “There’s a reason the Queen’s never been photographed topless or playing naked billiards. It’s called, ironically, ‘common sense.’”

Yes, Piers is a little harsh, but he does speak the truth.

Kate, you’re a wonderful woman and role model, try not to be too upset about this, and from now on, when you’re outside, keep your top on!

What do you think, Hollywoodlifers? Should Kate be careful about going topless again or should she just do what she wants? Tell me in your comments below.

Public figures or not, when they are protected by law, they should not be ostricized and scrutinized like it’s some kind of big scandal. She can go topless, just like everybody else when she is protected by a French privacy law. The law should never be broken in the first place, and when it did, people should be pointing fingers to the perpetrator instead of the victim. In this case, Kate is clearly the victim and your conscience is on the wrong.

You’re right, it’s easy to blame the victim. But in this case, considering the consquences of your actions before the fact might have been the prudent thing to do. Perhaps Kate has learned the hard way. If not, she can expect more photos to be taken of her au naturel.

In France it’s illegal to take photos of someone on private property without their permission – even if the photographer is in a public place. There is no doubt that the photos were published illegally, and they will be prosecuted. But the maximum fine is 30,000 euros. The magazine knows their increased revenue will be greater.

Really, HL?! It is a pretty normal customer to do so in Frances. She was on private property, on vacation with her husband. You call her naive and then have the nerve to post that you actually saw the pics?! You really should start reviewing what each person on your staff is writin because the information not only conflicts with each other, but some of it is pretty ridiculous – like this entire article. Glad to hear they are suing, as that rag mag totally needs a wake up call.
