The Vampire Diaries returns for a fourth season Oct. 11, and as we can see from these new pics from the premiere, most of Mystic Falls is hellbent on preventing Elena (Nina Dobrev) from completing her transition into a vampire.

Jeremy (Steven R. McQueen) looks on in horror as Bonnie (Kat Graham) literally pours her blood, sweat and tears — emphasis on the blood, though — into a reversal spell, while Stefan (Paul Wesley) merely chooses to pine for his beloved doppelganger from the other side of the wall.

Meanwhile, Tyler (Michael Trevino) couldn’t care less about stopping Elena’s potential transformation, instead choosing to spend his time frolicking shirtless through the woods — and we thank him for that. Of course, that could have something to do with the fact that Klaus (Joseph Morgan) is still inhabiting his body; just don’t tell Caroline (Candice Accola)!

Love the Vampire Diary waiting. 4 season 4 keep it coming.

Seeing as Damon is my favorite character it bothers me that not even one still of him was included in the stills for 4×01

Damon is my favorite to and i believe they dont want to give away to much , that is why we dont see much of Damon in pictures right now. hopefully we will see a lot of damon and Elena in season 4

If Bonnie is trying to find a way to reverse Elena’s transition and she’s been captured bya vampire hunter (along with Stefan) does that mean that she does not actually have to be present for the spell (like the soul tethering spell in season two)? Just a thought, or does it take place before or after? there’s an awful lot happening in one episode.

“Stefan merely chooses to pine” Seriously? We don’t know if he’s kiddnapped to or what elese is going on in the scene but u jump to that?! Whatever. Team Stefan and Elena. And poor Bonnie. Give the girl a break Julie Plec.
