Chris took to Twitter to clear up any confusion surrounding the new tattoo on his neck that many have presumed was an image of Rihanna! Read on for all the details.
When Chris Brown debuted the new tattoo on his neck on Sept. 1, it set many tongues wagging. The image of a woman’s face was compared to that of his famous ex-girlfriend Rihanna, or to just of any woman who appeared to have facial scars. But Chris insists that this isn’t the case.
On his official Twitter account, Chris sent out a simple statement on Tuesday, Sept. 11 to clear up what the tattoo was actually meant to represent. “I’m an artist and this is art. Dia de los Muertos,” Chris wrote, affirming that the tattoo is a representation of the traditional face paint worn on the holiday.
Peter Koskela, the tattoo artist who performed the inking for Chris, called in to The Wendy Williams Show on Wednesday, Sept. 12 to support the pop star’s claims. Peter told Wendy that Chris brought him a “random” picture that he liked to design the tattoo around. He also told Wendy that Karrueche Tran was with Chris when he got the tattoo!
