Amber Portwood may be behind bars, but she’s having no trouble making new pals. Keep reading for more details!

Teen Mom Amber Portwood has made a new friend in a very unlikely place — jail. The 22-year-old MTV star is currently serving a five-year jail sentence at Indiana’s Rockville Correctional Facility following a December 2011 drug arrest.
According to a new report, Amber’s fellow inmate, Sugarfoot, has been keeping an eye on the troubled reality star — and has even gotten Amber’s initials tattooed on her neck. Now that’s dedication!

“Sugarfoot certainly has her back,” a source told RadarOnline.com. “Everywhere Amber goes, Sugarfoot is by her side – she’s what they call in prison, a protector, someone who will fight your battles and keep you safe.”

Though we’re not sure why Amber needs the extra protection, we’re happy that she has made a new friend given the stressful circumstances. “They are very fond of one another,” the source revealed. “Amber even asked to move cells to be closer to her new pal.”

The two reportedly bonded over their shared pasts, according to the source. “They have a lot in common – both have young kids and also suffered from substance abuse problems. The pair appear to be a good influence on one another, which can only help Amber get her life back on track.”
