The coaches on ‘The Voice’ continue their premiere week, looking for more talent to add to their teams! Julio becomes the first contestant to ever sing entirely in Spanish and Adriana Louise earns the second four-way tie of the new season!

It was night two of The Voice‘s three-night premiere week, and our favorite panel of coaches — Christina Aguilera, Cee Lo Green, Adam Levine, and Blake Shelton — were hungry for more voices to mentor. Luckily, Julio Castillo and Adriana Louise came to the rescue!

Standout Auditions

The first and last auditions of the night were arguably the best of the entire evening. The show kicked off with sassy Adriana (who had also been part of a kidnapping when she was nine!) knocking everyone dead with a performance of Jessie J‘s “Domino.” She had all four coaches turning their chairs, fast. Adam rightly noted that Adriana’s voice was the sort of voice that most pop stars try to have on a record, but can’t replicate live. Girl was good! She wound up choosing Team X-Tina, saying that she wanted to go with the artist whose record was the first she ever bought with her own money.

Julio closed out the night with a terrific performance of Richie Valens‘ “La Bamba” — entirely in Spanish. This marks the first time in three seasons that a contestant has sung in Spanish, which I thought was pretty cool, though I hope he can branch out down the road. For tonight, though, it was great. Julio had such a clear, clean tone to his voice throughout the song, and his ending was a knockout. Weirdly, only Blake and Cee Lo turned in their chairs. After dazzling the crowd with some a capella mariachi, Julio finally decided on Blake for his coach.

Another highlight of the evening was 24-year-old Aquile, who wowed with a version of Elton John‘s “Your Song.” He had Adam and Christina turning immediately and got Cee Lo to turn at the last minute with his beautiful closing. Christina brought out her cougar act when pleading for Aquile to join her team, saying she’d like a “private concert,” but it worked. Aquile chose Team X-Tina.

Team Line-Ups, After Night Two

Team X-Tina walked away tonight with its first bit of strength, with the addition of both Adriana and Aquile, which more than makes up for the lackluster members she took last night. Besides the outstanding Julio, Team Blake added wrester Casey Muessigmann to his team. Casey sang a good version of “Sweet Home Alabama,” but it was nothing to write home about.

Team Cee Lo added cutie Mackenzie Bourg to his team. Mackenzie very nearly walked away without a team, until Cee Lo turned around at the last minute during what I thought was a fun, bluesy version of “Pumped Up Kicks” by Foster The People. And, sadly, Team Adam added no one to their ranks. But, since Adam walked away with last night’s shining star Bryan Keith, I don’t think he was sweating it too much.

What did you think of tonight’s field of talent, HollywoodLifers? Are you loving the new season of The Voice? And, most importantly, are you ready for a third night of auditions tomorrow? Sound off in the comments and let me know!

I missed this one! I totally forgot the show was on for three nights. My coworker at Dish was talking about how amazing this guy’s audition was. I, luckily, have the show on my Hopper DVR waiting for me at home. It automatically records every show in prime time from the four major networks. I have a lot of great auditions to catch-up on tonight, I’ll be watching night three live for sure. I don’t think we can expect to have a contestant sing in a foreign language twice though.
