The road to recovery hasn’t been easy for flesh-eating bacteria victim Aimee Copeland, but her loving boyfriend has been by her side every step of the way!

A flesh-eating bacterial disease may have claimed several of Aimee Copeland‘s appendages, but it never damaged her spirit. “[Dying] was never an option, I love life, it’s a beautiful thing,” the spunky 24-year-old told Katie Couric on the Sept. 11 episode of Katie.
Amiee has had the constant support of her friends, family and boyfriend ever since that fearful day in May when she fell while zip-lining. “It’s really remarkable how laid back he is,” Aimee said of her boyfriend Ben. “He’s really helpful even when I’m a super grouch. He doesn’t take it personally.”

Despite the health challenges Aimee has faced over the last several months, the Georgia native never worried that Ben would walk away.

“When I stood up for the first time in front of him, he was crying, ‘Wow, I’ve missed you up here,'” she revealed. “We’ve been together through so many hard times, we’re just to the point where I look at him and I see myself in him, and he feels the same way about that.”

Are YOU so happy about the incredible progress Aimee has made?
