We’re not surprised to hear that Penn Badgley wasn’t invited to Blake Lively and Ryan Reynold‘s secret wedding in South Carolina, but a heads-up would have been nice — especially since Penn and Blake dated for three years!
“I actually didn’t know until last night, but I think it’s fantastic,” Penn — who still stars on Gossip Girl alongside Blake — tells People. “I couldn’t be happier for her.”

Though the two have reportedly remained friends since their breakup in 2010, Penn says he learned of the wedding by reading reports and speaking to “people who are close to her.”

Regardless, he has nothing but warm wishes for the newlyweds and describes their relationship as “pretty spot-on.”

“I think it’s everything that it should be,” he adds.
