Nina Dobrev Dating Ian Somerhalder: Fought Feelings For A ‘Long Time’

Nina Dobrev admits she tried to fight the romantic feelings she had for her ‘The Vampire Diaries’ co-star Ian Somerhalder in a new interview, but eventually, they got the best of her! Keep reading to see what she said!

Nina Dobrev, 23, started working with Ian Somerhalder on the set of The Vampire Diaries in 2009. The couple confirmed their love by appearing on the red carpet together in June 2011. Nina admitted it had been a long time coming in a new interview with Seventeen!

Spending so much time together on set no doubt brought the two close, but they kept their relationship under-the-radar. Nina herself admits it was hard to keep her feelings in check!

“The first time I was on the cover of Seventeen, the cover line said ‘Nina: Why she wouldn’t date any of her co-stars.’ And then cut to two years later…it’s funny that I said that, but you know what? It was honestly what I believed at the time. I didn’t want to be dating one of my costars — my goal on the show was to be professional. But sometimes you can’t help who you have a connection with, and you can only fight it for so long — which I did for a really, really long time.”

Love Ian and Nina. They are a beautifull couple.

The people that say their relationship isn’t real are the same ones who just want Nina to be with Paul. But face it, Paul has a beautiful wife that he already loves & Nina and Ian seem really happy together, so don’t hate.

A relationship is based on two people;not the whole wide world. They are happy together because they love eachother.n choose to keep their affections private. In the society they live in..its a smart move. Just as Beyonce and jay z did before them,and they are now happily married and blessed with.a child. I love this couple…and clearly Ian and nina are mature enough to handle all the media and critique from ignorant people.

Fanservice couple that doesn’t make sense are they having sex just for the fans? Why are they supposed to act like they don’t have a boyfriend or girlfriend when others on the cast go out with their loves and talk about their significant others. Kat Graham tweets her boyfriend all the time and was photographed walking on the beach & kissing him. Paul Wesley is photographed holding hands with his wife. Steve McQueen tweets pics of him and his girlfriend. Why are Nian held to some double standard from the rest of the cast, are they supposed to hide & pretend they don’t have a life. That’s not fair. You don’t see love that’s on you doesn’t mean we all don’t.

Very happy to see that Nina is speaking publicly regarding her romantic relationship with Ian. They have actually been together since April 2010, but Nina wanted it to be kept private which she addressed in her Seventeen Magazine interview. They are so much in love and are so happy together. Best wishes to them both.

I really like vampire diaries. I hope that Ian and Nina didn’t get together when he was in a relationship with Megan Auld. That would be so mean. Anyways hope they say together and she doesn’t mess around like kristen did to rob.

Seriously? Why bring Meghan Auld up at all? Ian dated Meghan on and off for two years, but there was never an engagement and he certainly wasn’t married to her. Ian and Meghan were over when Ian and Nina’s relationship became serious, which was in April 2010.
