Following reports that Katy and John ended their summer fling, sources tell HollywoodLife.com EXCLUSIVELY that the reports were wrong and that the two are still going strong! Read on for the inside scoop.
When news broke that Katy Perry and John Mayer had ended their summer relationship, we were all a little surprised. Seeing the pop star out and about with Robert Pattinson right after helped us move on from the shock, but it turns out there was never anything for us to be actually shocked over. Katy and John never broke up.
After being spotted together at the FYF music festival on Sept. 1 in Los Angeles, sources tell HollywoodLife.com exclusively that the two are very much still a couple — and have been all along. “Even after all the talk, they never broke up and were together all along,” our sources say.
We’ve been told that the relationship is going well, though neither John, 34, nor Katy, 27, take it all too seriously. “Things have been going well and speaking of never breaking up, they consider what they have as strictly dating and in no way exclusive and they both have made the decision to have fun with each other and not make anything super serious,” our sources tell us. Our sources add that, for the two, “it’s more of a physical relationship then a ‘falling-in-love’ relationship.”
We also may have some music from the two to look forward to in the future, our sources say! Katy’s most recent release was 2010’s Teenage Dream, while John just put out his latest, Born and Raised, on May 22. Of his latest album, John told NPR’s All Things Considered that he was nervous about people wanting to hear what he had to say.
“I hope people want to receive this music. I have so much that I need to say – I hope I get a chance to say it. I hope people are interested. [The way I’m feeling is] the exact same thing that a kid would say to himself before he had a record deal – all you have to do is put the word ‘again’ after it. I had to go back and recode [my career] in my brain as, ‘No, that was an incredible opportunity. You didn’t deserve that. You worked really hard and you had a little bit of something to say, but that doesn’t happen to everybody.”
Are you happy that Katy and John are still together, HollywoodLifers?
