Jake Gyllenhaal are your ears burning? They should be: Taylor Swift has made it oh-so-clear she’s talking about YOU in the catchiest breakup tune she’s written yet. Watch video and read!
Taylor Swift, you’ve got your revenge on ex-boyfriend Jake Gyllenhaal in your fantastic new single, “We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together!”
Taylor, you’ve never exactly been shy and retiring about dissing your exes in song, but your visuals in your new tune make this the most obvious putdown yet. The model filling in allegedly for Jake could be his twin.
With his short dark hair, close cropped mustache and beard, plaid shirt and sunglasses, the model is a head-to-toe visual stand in for Gyllenhaal, 31.
You and Jake dated through the fall of 2010, splitting in December and it was reported that Jake did the dumping.
“He said he wasn’t feeling it anymore and was uncomfortable with all the attention they got. Taylor is really upset,” a source told Us Weekly at the time.
Now Taylor, you admit that was the case in your infectious new tune: “We hadn’t seen each other in a month, when you said you needed space. (What?),” you sing.
The split clearly hit you hard. Really hard. But you weren’t just hurt. You were angry and you still are. There is sarcasm dripping in every verse of “We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together.”
“I used to think that we were forever ever, And I used to say, ‘Never say never…,’ Ugg, so he calls me up and he’s like, ‘I still love you,’ And I’m like… ‘I just… I mean this is exhausting, you know, like we are never getting back together. Like, ever.”
FYI, this is not the first time that you, Taylor, have very publicly dissed an ex who was clearly Jake. You spoke out in a Vogue magazine cover interview, in February 2012, about how you’d never date a guy again who tries to make you feel bad about yourself.
“If you need to put me down a lot in order to level the playing field or something,” that’s a red flag, you explained.
Not so coincidentally, your new song has this lyric. “And you, would hide away and find your peace of mind, With some indie record that’s much cooler than mine.”
And by the way, you don’t mind showing yourself, in your video as a down-to-earth, not-so-cool girl in your flannel pajamas and it is making EVERY girl love you.
Supposedly Jake also dumped you because he couldn’t deal with the public attention, the two of you attracted as a couple. “He wants to keep his private life private, and that’s hard to do dating Taylor,” a Gyllenhaal source told Us Weekly.
That understandably really ticked you off. You’ve always been so completely fan-friendly, sharing photo diaries with your fans, meeting fans all the time, and you’ve never felt the need to “hideout” from the public — so refreshing.
You made sure to also point this out to Vogue. “I can’t deal with someone who’s obsessed with privacy. People kind of care if there are two famous people dating. But no one cares that much. If you care about privacy to the point where we need to dig a tunnel under this restaurant so that we can leave? I can’t do that,” she told the mag.
Neither Taylor, are you afraid in either a song or an interview to let an ex know how you feel about them. Neither are you afraid to let the world know how you feel about an ex.
Before this, we learned how burned you were by ex John Mayer in “Dear John” and by Joe Jonas in “Forever and Always.”
Now forever and always we have insight into what a jerk you allegedly think Jake is in “We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together.”
And women everywhere will be humming this breakup tune for a long time! Will you Hollywoodlifers? Do you love Taylor’s new single like I do?

Don’t get me wrong, I love Taylor, but the title is too long (too troublesome to spell n say) and its sung repeatedly. Other than that, We Are Never Getting Back Together (see what I mean?) is an awesome song. But of course, every Taylor Swift song is awesome ♥
