Rihanna and Chris Brown have a twisted romance, but now the sultry singer is asking her ex-boyfriend to come see her at the MTV Video Music Awards!
Rihanna, 24, let Chris, 23, know that she wanted to see him at the event, HollywoodLife.com has learned EXCLUSIVELY.
“Rihanna, once again, texted Chris last night and asked,’What’s the deal, ni**a? You coming or not?,’” a source close to the singer says. “He hasn’t responded.”
HollywoodLife.com recently spoke with Chris’ rep, who told us Chris would not be able to attend the ceremony due to “another commitment.”
That said, our sources tell us he’s hoping to potentially attend one of the afterparties — and maybe even see Rihanna there!
“If he’s in Los Angeles he will go to some party,” our source said. “He can’t stay in his Hollywood crib knowing a party is right down the street. He’s going out if there’s a afterparty in Hollywood or something. We all want him to go because it will be good for him.”
Rihanna recently spoke to Oprah Winfrey about her complicated relationship with Chris.
“I think he was the love of my life. He was the first love and I see that he loved me the same way. We were very young and very spontaneous. We ran free. We ran wild. We were falling in love going in at a really rapid pace and we forgot about ourselves as individuals.”

Run, Chris, Run, Rihanna has some mixed up thinking going on in her brain and if you were smart you would run as fast as you can to the nearest exit. She needs plenty of psychotherapy to get through that mess she calls a brain and you don’t need further drama in your life. Stay with your girlfriend and build a lasting relationship that is stable and one you know you can depend on. Rihanna will forget about you if she is forced to. Move on with your life and leave your past behind. It might hurt for a while, but in the long run your emotional health will thank you.

Yes. She’s making a fool of herself, on her knees in public and he’s not batting an eyelash – MAYBE privately, but that’s not the same. I don’t really blame him for not responding -she’s trying to control the shots and make it all happen, but men have big egos. I can’t see Chris come crawling back to Rih, on her command. Move on darlin -, THEN he may come after you! (then YOUR ego might get in the way….)
