Honey Boo Boo’s Mom Denies Mocking Granddaughter’s Three Thumbs

Mama June Shannon was slammed by reports that she made fun of her 5-week-old granddaughter for having three thumbs, but the family matriarch insists it isn’t true! Read on to find out what she said.

Alana “Honey Boo Boo” Thompson, 7, became an aunt when her sister, 18-year-old Anna ‘Chickadee‘ Shannon gave birth on July 26. When Anna’s baby girl Kaitlyn arrived with four fingers and two thumbs on one of her hands, rumors started flying that the family matriarch, June Shannon, made fun of her first granddaughter!

The allegations, however, are completely false.

“We have embraced [the abnormality],” June said of the reports. “It makes Kaitlyn more special to us.”

Well, that’s a relief! Now we wonder what she has to say about her granddaughter sipping on some Mountain Dew.

Lmao,good one Kelly! You know you people at HL seem surprised by this however they are poor white trash sans trailer…..and for those of you who may not know,many babies are born with additional fingers or thumbs(typically in 3rd world countries) and they are “snipped”upon birth but let’s look where Junes granddaughter was born…..the hospital is the equivalent of SNL’s “Appalachian Mountain Emergency Room” skit…….it’s sad as a society we watch others misfortune and uneducated poor lifestyles….you know the monies TLC gives them doesn’t go into any type of trust or to a financial planner but to buy pigs(Glitzy),Sugarbears four wheelers,honey booboos pageant wear and for their food….my gawd why doesn’t TLC hire them a dietician and nutritionist? Because then there would be NO TRAIN WRECK to watch! *heavy sigh*

I’m not from a third world country but my son was born with an additional thumb that wasn’t “snipped” at birth. Unbeknownst to us, the additional digit is hereditery that skipped 4 generations on my husband’s side. To avoid teasing as our son grew, we had it removed at the Curtis National Hand Center in Baltimore. Although the 1 thumb is now slightly curved more than normal, our 7 year old son functions normally. When he was born with the additional digit, we told our other child that the baby is like Nemo and had a special fin. We have never been ashamed of the additional digit with our son lovingly referring to his left hand as the one with the special thumb.
