Trainer Tracy Anderson Slams Moms Who Can’t Lose Baby Weight

The toned fitness guru and mom of two dropped her baby weight in just six weeks after giving birth, and criticized moms who pack on the pounds after they have babies! Find out what she said!

Celebrity trainer Tracy Anderson, 36, is credited for sculpting the post-pregnancy bodies of Jennifer Lopez and Gwyneth Paltrow, and even got back to her fit figure mere weeks after giving birth to daughter Penelope in May 2012. But in a recent interview, the fitness instructor said that many women use pregnancy as an “excuse” for gaining weight!

When Tracy was pregnant with her first baby in 1998, she indulged in junk food, including milkshakes and hot dogs and spent most of the time lounging around. By the time she gave birth to Sam, she had gained 60 pounds, which was an excessive amount for her 5-foot frame.

“A lot of women use pregnancy as an excuse to let their bodies go, and that’s the worst thing,” she told Dujour magazine in their September issue. “I feel like I’ve lived an entire lifetime since then.”

That lifetime includes opening a fitness studio, releasing exercise DVDs, and taking on many high-profile clients. And when she got pregnant with her baby Penelope in fall 2011, she wanted to approach her pregnancy much healthier this time around.

She only gained 30 pounds, and lost most of the weight less than two months later!

Although her latest fitness DVD endeavor, The Pregnancy Project, was designed to help women stay in shape throughout their pregnancy, she still doesn’t see having kids as a reason to be fat.

“I’ve seen so many women who come to me right after [having children] with disaster bodies that have gone through hell, or they come to me years later and say, ‘Oh, my body is like this because I had three kids,’” she said in the interview.

It’s also easy to say for celebrities who can devote their entire day and thousands of dollars to getting in shape!

Also… having a fit body continually throughout life before pregnancy helps. Look at Tia she gained a ton, no exercise, and still has 10 pounds.. Tamera? She is working out during her pregnancy. We will see the diff.

Ms Anderson maybe right but some women gain alot of weight while pregnant due to life threatening complications that make it impossible for them to excercise in the later days of pregnancy. why should we listen to her the people she services have to lose pregnancy weight quickly for their jobs it’s totally different than a normal 9 to 5 working mom

I am sorry but do people realize how insensitive that comment is. Some people have had two kids and exercise and eat healthy and count calories but it is still hard to lose the baby weight. And no it is not because we use it as an excuse to be fat. For some people you do absolutely all you can but it is simply harder to lose weight. And how easy it is for a celebrity mom I got in shape in 6 weeks its an excuse you cannot too. Well if I had four hours a day to exercise by myself and had a nanny; nutritionist;trainer; and cook yeah I guess I would have a leg up on losing the baby weight too!!

What she’s saying is very true, but it’s also very easy for her to say such a thing : she is a professional trainer, fitness is her life.

True you do not need money to exercise and healthy eating habits are a must. However, finding the time to exercise is a serious struggle for moms. I am a working mother w/ 3 year old twin girls. By the time I pick up kids from preschool, make dinner, clean up and take care of the other 1000 things I need to do I’m exhausted. I can barely get out for a 30 minute walk.

and stop caring about themselfes?? You can care for your Baby AND for yourself and have a healthy Lifestyle!! You also should take care of yourself to be a role model to your kids!!!!!
