‘Glee’ is moving to a new night (Thursday!) and morphing into a new version of itself — dubbed by E! Online as ‘Glee 2.0!’ With the premiere right around the corner (Sept. 13), major spoilers are coming to light! Read on for all the details.
When Glee premieres on Thursday Sept. 13, the series will essentially functions as two series within a series — and Rachel’s (Lea Michele) world in NYC will be one half of what the proposed spinoff would have been!
SPOILER ALERT — If you wish to be surprised come Sept. 13, stop reading now!
“It’s definitely been a little sad because I’m used to shooting and being with my friends and the whole group of people,” Lea tells E! Online. “But to be able to be on a TV show and be in the fourth season and get to switch it up like this, and have it be so different in season four…It’s like, that’s awesome.”
And things are definitely different — including the sets! To accomodate the “New York City” set in Hollywood, Will’s (Matthew Morrison) house is gone, the New Directions choir room, teachers’ lounge and school hallway have all been cut smaller to help ease the transition. According to the report, viewers won’t notice much of a difference. (Phew!)
A large NYADA classroom with chandeliers and arched windows as well as a loft-style apartment for Kurt (Chris Colfer) and Rachel was built. The two will reportedly be shacking up together one Kurt makes his move to NYC!
The casts from both worlds don’t shoot together (even though their sets are adjacent to one another), but Lea looks at it in a positive way.
“I still get to see everybody, and now it’s like, ‘I’m so excited to see you!’ Instead of like, I’ve been looking at your face for 17 hours and I love you but I want to go home. Now it’s like, every time I see Kevin McHale I want to punch him in the face and like molest him. I just get so excited. I saw Chord [Overstreet] today. It’s great and it’s amazing. And knowing that I will get to see them and work with them, I’m sure Rachel will go home for a little Christmas holiday, she’ll come back to McKinley or come back when they perform. It’s all good.”
We certainly hope we get some scenes with both casts! How do YOU feel, HollywoodLifers?
