Tom Cruise's $250 Million Divorce: Katie Holmes Getting Child Support

Katie will only get modest child support — and no spousal support — from her multi-millionaire ex-husband Tom.

Shortly after Katie Holmes filed for divorce from Tom Cruise, the 33-year-old actress said she wanted nothing from her wealthy ex. Well, that’s exactly what she got! The Dawson’s Creek star has only been awarded $400,000 per year in child support payments in her divorce settlement, according to reports from TMZ.

Katie signed a prenuptial agreement when she married Tom in 2006 that excludes her from receiving a lump sum payout of his $250 million fortune. She will also receive no spousal support from the Top Gun star, however Tom is required to pay over $33,000 a month in child support for their six-year-old daughter Suri until she turns 18. In total, that amount comes to $4.8 million. Tom must also pay Suri’s expenses, including medical, dental, insurance, education, college and extracurricular costs.

The couple also agreed that Suri will not attend boarding school, discrediting rumors that Suri would be shipped off to a school that focuses on Scientology.

Under New York law, Katie probably could have gotten more money in child support if the case went to trial, but the pair wanted to settle quickly.

that’s not modest, that’s more a year then my mothers house cost total. the 300 I’m suppose to get a month for two kids is modest. I would kill for 33,000 a YEAR in child support!!! ugh…

lol! get more? thats more than i make in a year that she gets in a month & she doesn’t have to pay for school, medical anything, ect. and thats what the big costs are!

See that freaking woman? So devious not paying attention to the husband, hooking up always to the celphone plotting her next move leading to blindsiding a good man. Good for her ending up modest amount. This lady really looks emotionally unstable.

Some people would kill to get almost a half a mill a year in child support, plus all the things a child needs like insurance, schooling, etc.. It’s going to end up costing him a lot more than a half a million a year after insurance, clothes, school, etc.. Katie is working, I see no reason for her to get spousal support. I am sure if she needed something Tom would make sure she got it. He is paying for everything Suri needs, wants, must haves, etc. Katie makes good money on her own. I see no reason to bleed a husband of all the money he has worked hard for. Hollywood is noted for women taking their husbands to the cleaners. I didn’t do it to nor did i see any reason to do it to mine.Tom’s smart; at least all his money wasn’t spent on lawyers trying to settle a custody and monetary battle. Another thing Hollywood is noted for.
