How ‘Twilight’ Can Hurt Robert Pattinson’s Career

One Hollywood insider reveals that Rob will always be remembered as Edward from ‘Twilight’ — do YOU agree? Read on for more details!

There’s no doubt Robert Pattinson is a talented actor. However, Cosmopolis director David Cronenberg admits that it can be a gamble when casting an actor like Rob because he’ll always be remembered as that guy from Twilight!

When asked by About.com if he was nervous casting Rob, he simply replied: “You want to forget his movies and my movies because we’re creating this completely new thing and you don’t know what audience you’re going to get. “

The acclaimed director went on to say it’s just important to focus on the project you’re working on in the moment.

“You can anticipate it, you can think about it, but really you don’t know. So ultimately when you’re making the movie you’re saying, ‘Okay, I’m here with these actors. They’re wonderful actors, I cast them because they’re terrific and they will bring great stuff to the script,’ and then at that point you’re just making a movie and you’re not thinking about any other movie,” he said.

Hmm! Now with the Twilight franchise nearing an end, Rob, 26, is starting a new chapter in his career. But do you think the role that turned him famous will ultimately hurt him down the road?

Of course rob will always be remembered as Edward just as Dan will always be remembered as Harry.however if healed the right career choices and continues to hone his talent, he hopefully won’t be defund by the role

I think twilight only helped rob. I mean of course ppl will always remember him as edward but thats a giid thing, after all that was the role that nade him famous. And he shoull always b thankful 2 the twilight fans!

I agree. The franchise has made to date 2.5 billion dollars and it wasn’t just to see the cast. It was Rob that carried the fans. He is very bankable and should have a great career ahead. He will tell you himself that if not for Twilight, he would not have the life he is having now.

It is never a bad thing to be remembered for something as GREAT as Twilight. The books were terrific and the movies were amazing since they were able to stay true to the books (mostly). Rob was basically an unknown beore Twilight so this can only help him. Not to mention that he did some amazing work on other movies between the releasing of the Twilight movies. Now there are so many people who ‘love’ him besisdes the bitter harpies and hags, and that probably would not have happened without Twilight.
