Rihanna’s been through a lot with ex-boyfriend Chris Brown, but one thing’s for sure: she just wants him to be happy. Even though he physically abused her in February 2009, the 24-year-old singer has forgiven him and only wants him to be “at peace.”
Rihanna told Oprah that Chris was dealing with a lot of pain and hurt during the time he attacked her, and that now she just wants him to be happy.
“I truly love him. The main thing for me is that he’s at peace. I’m not at peace if he’s a little unhappy or still lonely. I care. It actually matters that he finds that peace,” Rihanna told Oprah during their interview for Oprah’s Next Chapter.
She also said that even though it’s taken a long time, she’s forgiven him for hurting her.
“I have [forgiven him]. It’s taken a long time,” Rihanna said.
But even though she still loves him, they aren’t back together.
“We’ve built a trust again and that’s it. We love each other and we probably always will,” Rihanna said.
Hmm! We were so happy to see Rihanna open up so honestly to Oprah.
