Comedy legend Phyllis has passed away at the age of 95. So sad! Read on for the details.
Joan Rivers recently told Andy Cohen on Watch What Happens Live that Phyllis Diller “broke the way for every woman comedian.” Sadly, the groundbreaking Phyllis passed away on Monday, Aug. 20, at the age of 95.
TMZ reports that Phyllis died in her L.A. home, surrounded by family. She had recently taken a fall that hurt both her wrist and hip, and her health had been on the decline since. She had been living in hospice care since the fall.
The comedian, who suffered a heart attack in 1999, began her career back in 1952 and rose to fame with her TV specials in the 1960s.
Our thoughts are with Phyllis’ family and friends during this time of mourning.
