Sources at Universal tell HollywoodLife.com EXCLUSIVELY that they are going to watch ‘Snow White and the Huntsman’ DVD sales closely before deciding whether to move forward with a follow-up to the film! Read on for the inside scoop.
Following Kristen Stewart‘s affair with Rupert Sanders, the possibility of a follow-up to Snow White and the Huntsman, whether it includes Kristen or not, is still being debated by Universal. The studio wants to wait until DVD sales figures come in for the film, once it’s released on Sept. 11, before making any decision.
Our Universal sources tell us, “The real test for any sequel/prequel talk to continue is when the film comes out on DVD on September 11.” “If it is a big hit on DVD…then there will be a lot more talk of moving forward with the sequel/prequel,” our sources say.
However, if the numbers come in soft, for whatever reason, prospects don’t look too good. “If it bombs, then they will make the decision, most likely, to not move forward with the project in any shape or form,” our sources say. “Because at the end of the day, its all about money.”
Do you think SWATH will be a success on DVD, HollywoodLifers?
