The Real Housewives of New York City star Countess LuAnn De Lesseps is ready to help HollywoodLifers with their toughest love, beauty, and health questions with her weekly column. How do you keep your nails chip free after getting a manicure? — Nicole in Seattle, WA
Keeping your nails looking good after a manicure requires effort and even then, chips happen! When you are cleaning or washing the dishes, wear gloves. Get a manicure as close to an event as possible so that your nails have the best chance of looking perfect. Buy a bottle of matching polish and touch up your nails between salon visits. BE GENTLE!
What’s the best way to catch up with a friend without eating a big meal (we’re both on diets)? — Jennie in Stamford, CT
Instead of meeting your friend for a meal, why not join her for drinks or a coffee? If you are on a diet and want to meet-up for a meal, choose a restaurant that serves healthy food. Think sushi or salads rather than steak and potatoes. BON APPETITE!
What should you do if you show up for a dinner or event and feel underdressed? — Katie in New York, NY
I always say it’s better to over-dress than under-dress. Confidence is key when you show up in a sundress while everyone else is wearing cocktail. If you don’t bring attention to how you are dressed and greet people with a smile, you can breeze through most wardrobe faux-pas. To prevent this from happening in the future, check the invitation. BE PREPARED!
