Rob could have easily opened up about his personal life during his numerous press appearances in NYC — but instead he kept his mouth shut and took the high road! I’m so proud!
Let’s be honest here. Who didn’t want to hear Rob talk about Kristen Stewart during his interviews about Cosmopolis? I will shamelessly admit I was hoping he’d at least acknowledge it, but he didn’t. And that alone just proves what a gentleman Robert Pattinson really is.
When Seal was going through his divorce with Heidi Klum, he publicly spoke out about what was going on in his personal life while promoting his new album — which seemed a little strange, and frankly disrespectful. He has a family for crying out loud — and kids who could have been watching those interviews.
But Rob didn’t have anyone to embarrass or disrespect publicly except for Kristen Stewart — and he didn’t. The Twilight star took the high road and kept his mouth shut which I’m sure wasn’t easy considering how many times he was asked about the situation!
In an interview with MTV on August 16, Josh Horowitz started the interview by saying, “This is not going to be Dr. Phil or Oprah, so if you tuned in for that, keep moving.” Rob laughed off the comment, but added, “you want tears, you gotta give me the big bucks!”
And during his interview with Good Morning America, Rob simply said, “I’ve never been interested in selling my personal life, and that’s really the only reason people bring it up.”
Such a gentleman and a professional. He really handled all of his press appearances in the best way possible. And I think by him taking the high road, it really proved that even though Kristen hurt him, he respects her and the relationship that they had.
