Robert Pattinson admitted he couldn’t understand why his character would cheat in his film ‘Cosmopolis,’ just weeks after his own girlfriend Kristen Stewart was caught cheating. Keep reading to see what Rob said about playing this promiscuous character!
Although Robert Pattinson told a reporter that the Kristen Stewart cheating scandal is ”dissociated” from his new film, there are similarities — mainly that Rob’s character cheats on his wife in the movie — and Rob can’t fathom those actions in real life.
“I couldn’t hear the voice of the character at all. There was nothing,” Rob admitted. His character cheats on his wife with two different women. Rob has previously admitted he doesn’t understand why people cheat, to Vanity Fair. “There is one thing I’ve never understood: why people cheat … My parents met when my mom was 17 and my father 25, they are still together and seem very happy. I grew up believing that you can be together all of your life.”
In the new interview, Rob says about Cosmopolis: “It was scary to say yes to something which you didn’t know what it was. I knew it was interesting, I knew there was something special but I had no idea how to do it or what I could add to it. But when you start saying no to [director David] Cronenberg because you don’t think it’s good enough, it’s a stupid decision to make.”
Rob also said that Cosmopolis “changed the way I see myself.”
