
Three Russian musicians have been found guilty for an anti-Vladimir Putin protest! Read on for more details!
In a very controversial case that has brought worldwide attention to free speech in Russisa, Nadezhda Tolokonnikova, Yekaterina Samutsevich and Maria Alyokhina — two of whom are moms — will spend the next two years behind bars, according to The New York Times.
The three women — who make up the Russian band Pussy Riot — were convicted of hooliganism on August 17 for protesting in a Russian cathedral, asking the Virgin Mary to get rid of the Russian president, Vladimir Putin. The women covered their faces in scarves and danced freely on the altar before being escorted by authorities.
The women have been in jail since March 2012 and have garnered attention from several big names in the music industry, including Sting and Madonna.
