Rob reveals what was on his mind during his extensive sex scene in ‘Cosmopolis’ during his MTV interview with Josh Horowitz — and it’s not as sexy as you’d think! Read on for details.
Robert Pattinson continued his Cosmopolis press tour on Thursday, Aug. 16 by sitting down with MTV’s Josh Horowitz for MTV First: Robert Pattinson. During the one-on-one chat, Rob discussed the extensive sex scene he’s a part of in the film, and how he didn’t get to plan for it!
“In the script, they weren’t having sex, it was after,” Rob said. “They finish having sex when the scene happens, and David [Cronenberg, the director] told me that morning. He was like, ‘It would be more interesting.’ So even the dialogue, everything about it changes completely, ’cause we’re, like, talking about the other security guard. It becomes funnier as well.”

Rob, 26, explained that the on-the-fly scene left a lot to be determined, and he decided where he should, err, climax. “There’s the mechanics of the sex scene. Where does it climax? You’re trying to figure that out,” Rob says. “There’s six pages of dialogue. That was my idea, where to climax. I had the idea of climaxing and saying, ‘Do you find this interesting?’ That’s a cool line.”
Rob added that they had to do the scene in just one take, during which he said, “I’m trying to hide my belly!” with a laugh. Aww! Rob’s so cute!
