Robert Pattinson On ‘GMA’: ‘I’m Not Trying To Sell My Personal Life’

Rob sat down with ‘Good Morning America’ — and once again he dodged questions about Kristen’s affair! Not even Cinnamon Toast Crunch cereal could pry it out of him! Read on to find out why!

Robert Pattinson was all smiles when he sat down on the GMA couch on Aug. 15 — with a box of Cinnamon Toast Crunch right in front of him!

“Jon Stewart gave you ice cream.. we did some research and we thought it was more appropriate to give you breakfast, Cinnamon Toast Crunch,” GMA host George Stephanopoulos said, trying to ease the tension in the room. After commending Rob, 26, on his Cosmopolis performance, George got down to business.

“Everybody just wants to know, how are you doing and what do you want your fans to know about your personal life?,” George asked.

A nervous, coffee-sipping Rob replied, “I’d like my fans to know Cinnamon Toast only has 30 calories for instance… I’ve never been interested in selling my personal life, and that’s really the only reason people bring it up.”

The 26-year-old Twilight star has been making public appearances all week to promote his new film Cosmopolis in NYC — and this one wasn’t very different in regards to him opening up about Kristen Stewart‘s affair.

We wonder what it will take for Rob to finally open up about it.

I am so please to know that there’s still some Hollywood actors who’s professional and manage to remain to have integrity and his ONE of them! in spite of the set back of success that comes along with it he remains to validate what should be giving away…actually it’s a matter of what extent an actor want to perceive of him buy the audience without intending anything…Less talk & enigmatic and not totally commenting directly to whatever, is a way great move!The more the words & story the more people buys it and putting that on a lot of totally circus and clamour stuff! Sometimes silence is the most effective eloquence.

I adore Rob for having that “privacy in his personal life” , though career- wise he belongs to the fans around the world, but still HE has that some sort of ” SELF-OWNERSHIP” that the world has really NOTHING TO DO WITH THAT. It is his option and i ADMIRE HIM FOR THAT. HE HAS THAT SELF-PRESERVATION. It doenst mean that tho he is a Celebrity, the fans will always have to know all about him……… I LOVED ROB for that, BUT I LOVED MOST OF ALL KRISTEN.

Robert Pattinson is promoting his upcoming movie Cosmopolis. He is required to do so by contract. Not to talk about his personal life. Check that, he shouldn’t talk about it at all. It is none of our business to begin with.

I’m so sure that Rob doesn’t love Kristen. He is silent because he cares for his own image and not because of her. He does not behave honestly. He is a hypocrite, we do not know how he behaved with Kristen in their personal live. Perhaps Kristen should come together with the man where she lives this time, he supports her at least.

Erza??? Unclear on your comment? Robert isn’t silent for his image for he did nothing wrong to jeopardize it. Kristen did.. Its her image as a gentlemen that he is silent for. A real man does not kiss and tell… his silence is golden. The director she is said to be staying with, its reported that he wants them back together. He is a friend of hers. Now I don’t think a friend would send their friend back to a hypocrite, or someone who would hurt their friend “in their personal live” That would be hypocritical. Robert’s behavior is most honorable , gentlemen worthy. Maybe because one doesn’t see that action that often its not recognized when in view. D. Justin

Some lady that was there said that he looked as if she crosses his mind a lot. Which I am sure he does think of Kristen a lot.
We will not know for sure since as he states he will not say anything about his personal life.

He jokes to take some of the seriousness, and nervousness off… like the whole thing about the cereal being only 30 calories. :)

I am sure just like years ago when people wondered if they were dating… we will be wondering this for a while too.
And yes just like below… if they decide to start dating again they may be as secretive as ever.

I think Rob and Kristen broke off..it’s just that maybe summit don’t want them to announce anything at this time, because of breaking dawn 2. Maybe after the movie, we can finally hear them say that they’re done..It’s just my opinion anyways.

i never believe that summit ever controlled them that way.
just like in the past people said they were dating to sell the movie.
really? a movie that already makes in the millions needs help selling tickets?
if people really base going to see a movie on if the actors are dating in real life then they are stupid.
i am going to watch bd2, because one i had seen all the twilight movies and can’t wait to see this last one. and two i can separate reality from movie world. :)

I never said that summit is controlling them, it’s just that maybe they were told not to comment about the break up now, until breaking dawn 2 is in theaters, it’s just that fans/haters will be analyzing if they are done or not..people will kept on guessing, it may help or not, but i”m sure just like me, they are curious to what will happen on press conference or premier…

I think the twilight fans are now a lost culture that will probably never get closer to such a painful end to what started as an amazingly fun journey. It’s really said. These two actors that we all adored so fondley never though enough of us to give us answers about anything really. You know I actually felt a little jealous of Missy Franklin during the olympics because of teh way Justin Bieber reacted with her. We never got that type of interaction from Rob and Kristen. We always loved them for being private but wished they would open up a little more. If they ever appriciated their fans at all they should give them a straight answer for once and let them have closure regardless if what those answers might be.

I think just like they did years ago when all these rumors were flying around about them dating, and they keep quiet on it… pretty much the same thing will happen here.

I have even wondered a few days ago if they enjoy the mystery they give off. IDK?

I am sure that even if they decide to give it another try they will be as secretive as ever. Well… as secretive as you can get in Hollywood.

Hello Read Me, just a quick reminder…the “snowball” the secret in Hollywood once released, was pushed to roll down the hill taking all in its wake (Liberty Ross and her children along with Robert Pattinson) by the “I am sorry” stories summitted by Rupert Sanders and Kristen Stewart to the ones they profess loving by using the media to do so. I wonder (hindsight) what would have happened if they hadn’t put out those “forgive me” requests so publicly? Should of, could of, would have??? D. Justin

They don’t need to give their fans anything, but a good performance and a good movie. Both Kristen and Rob were always nice to their fans, even in their private time. And if you demand answers right now, well here is the deal: It is none of your buisness. You were to involved in them and now you want more. They have every right to keep their private lives private. Or do you talk about your private life to millions of people you don’t know. Wow such an entitlement from you, I’m just shaking my head. Follow their movies and interviews, that is enough.

# So true, so true. As in my reply to “Read Me” Hollywood or the media can put data out there whether true or be it false. If you are into total gossip, then you live for every word. The whole cast has been there for their fans. So my attention will be on the 11/16/2012 release of BD2 the final closing movie. Loved the books first, I loved the acting of each cast member who brought the story within these books to life also. So, like Robert, I’m Done….Next ! D. Justin

Thank you Maci you are absolutely right with your comment. However, I would like to add that Robert must hire quickly a publicist now! Because he is so shy, some say awkward, it is painful to watch him speak. The awkward laughing, touching his hair constantly, picking up the cup of water or coffee repeatedly (hiding behind it) you cannot understand him at times. He mumbles and does not finish a sentence. Believe me I am pulling for him but at 26 years old, he needs help. Its not occurring due to what has happened recently, this is how he has always reacted in interviews…just totally nervous, stumbling, mumbling, and the nervous laughing. I have seen Jaden / Willow Smith, Justin Bieber, and Taylor Lautner / Boo Boo Stewart cover interviews better. Robert you stated you are cheap…I am requesting that you open the wallet for a publist or someone you feel can help you over your stage fright of public speaking. Robert I truly enjoy your work, your career to date…I just want you to be able to discuss it too! D. Justin
