Rob has added another film to his busy schedule, joining the cast of director Warner Herzog’s indie ‘Queen of the Desert,’ according to a new report! Read on for all the details.
Robert Pattinson is certainly keeping himself busy following his split with Kristen Stewart, as he’s just joined the cast of another new film, continuing his recent trend of working on small projects with acclaimed directors.
According to Variety, Rob has joined the cast of Warner Herzog‘s indie Queen of the Desert, which will star Naomi Watts as English writer Gertrude Bell. Rob will play T.E. Lawrence, a British Army officer whose writing earned him international fame as Lawrence of Arabia, on whom the 1962 film is based.
Queen of the Desert will chronicle Gertrude’s life as a writer, archaeologist, explorer, cartographer and political attache for the British Empire, Variety reports. Gertrude and T.E. were good friends, with the duo having helped establish the Hashemite dynasties in Jordan and Iraq. Production on the film is aimed to begin in the late fall.
On his plate, Rob also has David Michod’s drama The Rover and the indie thriller Mission: Blacklist, which chronicles the hunt for Saddam Hussein. Of course, he’ll also be devoting time in the fall to the promotional tour for Breaking Dawn, Pt. 2.
