‘Basketball Wives’ Star Evelyn Lozada Released From Hospital After Husband Chad Johnson Charged With Domestic Violence

Chad is being charged with domestic violence after he allegedly head-butted his new wife Evelyn. Read on for all the details!

NFL star Chad Johnson was arrested Saturday, August 11 for domestic violence, after allegedly assaulting his wife, Basketball Wives star, Evelyn Lozada.

Chad allegedly head-butted Evelyn during an argument, and when police arrived on the scene, the reality star had lacerations on her forehead, according to TMZ.

The fight allegedly started after Evenlyn found a receipt for condoms in the center console of the couple’s Maserati. She reportedly confronted Chad on the matter and a verbal argument allegedly ensued.

Chad was arrested and Evelyn was rushed to the hospital. She has since been released and is currently pressing charges against Chad, according to TMZ’s report.

Chad stood before a judge this morning (Aug. 12) where a bond was set at $2500. He is expected to post and be released within the next couple of hours.

A rep for the Miami Dolphins released a statement on the arrest, saying, “We are aware of the situation and are in the process of gathering all the relevent information.”

She has a 3 inch cut. There is a picture on the net of that if it is true, DARN !! I don’t care what he/she did or said in the past, if those are her injuries…………….. The only thing that concerns me is how did that happen to her on that day. If he is responsible, he could be the pope himself, that is trifling. It is sad about his career too, but a headbutt!!! Now let me start out by saying that I know for a fact women get abused by men. However this is also true of women abusing men. Just so happens men don’t bruise as easily. My point being that Chad Johnson had no altercations with any women in his past, and this woman who seems to be a complete basket case comes out of nowhere and now this happens? No no no I don’t think so I believe Chad’s side of the story that she head butted him. Should I take the poor damsel in distress word or go with the guy who earlier that day was praising how he loves being out on the field. Funny how she claims his story completely changed right before he so called “head-butted her”. No shes a liar, she is one of the reasons our society is in decline as well. I am not here to praise Chad Johnson either, I could honestly careless about this situation. But I love how society has to jump on the woman’s side of things all the time. Its not always the women people and women know that so they use the system against men.

I’m honestly baffled at how ignorant this generation and society are in general to pretty much condone or make excuses for these men who beat on women. Who cares if she knew he was no good an a cheater and who cares that he has been on a reality show in which she hasn’t always painted herself as an angel..that does not give a man the right to put his hands on her or for this matter headbutt her which is worse. None of us know this woman from the bum on the street yet we get caught up with these reality shows, judging these people based on the hour we spend watching them on television. It’s tv meaning it’s meant to entertain. Just like John doe goes to work in corporate america these people are paid to entertain us and majority of the time it’s scripted. They are making a living just like anyone else just in a different way. This isn’t karma and she doesn’t deserve to be hurt period. And I am so ashamed that we as women will actually see this in this crap go on or hear about it and take up for the man or say someone deserves it or justify why he did it. There is no justifying it one bit. Even if she pulled a Rihanna and so called put her hands on him first, this is a man in the NFL who is strong, there’s no way a woman can beat up a man. That’s senseless and for anyone talking crap if youdo your research on mr ochocinco you would no that he was arrested in college for putting his hands on his girlfriend. So what if we saw on tv them having a convo about other women..she never once said she was ok with it..in fact she cried, she told him that she isn’t want to look like a fool and if that’s what he was going to do he needed to be honest with her and at least wear condoms. At no point did she say she was ok with that. We saw a convo that lasted a minute. We don’t know wht they talked about behind close doors

Sorry, I don’t see your point here. When is it ever okay for a woman to put her hands on a man? You justify this because a man is physically stronger? You are basically saying that we as women get to push as far as we want and that he has to take it? I don’t know what happened between Evelyn and her husband, but I just had to comment on what you just said here. There are a ton of women who put their hands on men all the time, then go to court and file false documents. If you did your research on Mrs. Johnson, you would see that she’s hot-tempered and quick to jump on tables and throw wine bottles at other women. Why do you make excuses for this behavior? I don’t think anyone has a right to put their hands on each other, man or woman. I am not okay with men abusing women, but I am also not okay with women doing it either.

She was ‘dying’ to get married to a man who told her he was not going to be faithful and she said “o.k. just use condons” and he did (or does). So why get mad. Chad and Evelyn had many conversations on the show and one of them she told him that if he was going to have sex with other women to “use a condom.” If that’s not what you meant then you shouldn’t had said it. That said, I believe that they bumped heads during their argurment, Evelyn has shown us from time-to-time, over and over again that she will jump in your face. I don’t care about chad and who he is or how much money he has, she picked him and him her. i don’t believe in a man putting his hands/head on a women…but let’s really asked ourselves, can all of this be that black and white? I don’t condone violence AT ALL but what happens when you put a a violent woman with a narcissistic man. Evelyn was all kinds of crazy on BBW, throwing drinks at people, trying to throw bottles at people, walking across table tops to get to Jennifer so she could fight her. Chad told her he wanted an open marriage and she said as long as he wear a condom.

I don’t know if it was scripted for him to say that or not but since the argument was over a condom receipt she found I guess it was not scripted.

Really everyone is against chad but he told her that he wanted an open relationship and she told him to use condoms! Choice is a tool all of us have and our chouce shoudl be used wisely. It was Evelyn’s choice to marry Chad even if she knew that he was being unfaithful. And it was chad’s choice to marry Ev when he knew that she had a temper. It’s just sad that neither of them considered what they really wanted before getting married and hindering each other’s careers. Just think about it, she was to have her own spin-off show, which has been canceled; he was to have played in the NFL this year but he’s been fired; she should loose her position on BBW since she was married to a Football player and her status as wife only lasted for 41 days! Her role on BBW allowed us to peek and predict what kind of marriage this really would become. Also Jen was a true friend who tried to tell her what everyone else has come to see and know was true about both her and him. Ev thought it was going to be great being married to baller who was always in the media. However, she didn’t know that the media hype would come in this form. They both need Jesus!
