Chris was hoping that Rihanna wouldn’t bring up their past during her interview with Oprah, but at least he wasn’t blindsided by the footage! A friend tells HollywoodLife.com EXCLUSIVELY that Rihanna gave him a head’s up that it happened.
In her upcoming interview with Oprah Winfrey, Rihanna opened up about Chris Brown and the brutal assault she’d experienced at his hand — something that Chris was hoping to avoid. While the topic wasn’t avoided, we’ve learned that Rihanna warned of it ahead of time.
A friend of Chris’ tells HollywoodLife.com exclusively, “He saw a few clip…of that Oprah interview, but [Rihanna] already told him ahead of time that they were going to bring up that old s***.”
Chris’ friend also told us that they believe it was all brought up as a way for Oprah to gain ratings for her fledgling network. “I think Chris was hoping…that Oprah wouldn’t bring up that old s***. But I guess her network is dying so she had to bring up some old a**, boring…three-years-ago drama to get some ratings,” the friend says.
