One Direction has only been a band for two years total and in that short amount of time, they have accomplished something few musical acts ever achieve! In less than a year, they have sold 12 million singles, albums and DVDs — Congrats!

One Direction‘s worldwide sales have topped 8 million singles, 3 million albums and a million DVDs. An amazing feat for the young band!

The band was presented with a special disk by Syco and Sony Music UK on July 31. One Direction’s debut album Up All Night has reached the top of the charts in 16 different countries!

“We are obviously ecstatic and incredibly humbled by our award today. We have an incredible team of people around us who have helped us achieve this and above all we would like to thank our fans. We owe all our success to them,” member Liam Payne said.

We can’t wait to see One Direction perform live at MTV’s Video Music Awards on September 6th!

Is One Direction your favorite band, HollywoodLifers?

i feel sorry for these kids. they think they’re the next coming of the beatles, and they’re just a 15 minute fad… they won’t know how to live after it, and are in for a big shock when they realize nobody really cares about them other than 13 year old girls. :( i hope they have some chance to stay in the biz, but boy band members don’t seem to amount to sh!t once the tween frenzy wears off.
