While it’s been reported that Kristen booked her first post-scandal film role, a source reveals to HollywoodLife.com EXCLUSIVELY that the news isn’t accurate. Read on for the inside scoop!
It was reported earlier that Kristen Stewart, who has faced quite a bit of backlash since it was revealed that she cheated on boyfriend Robert Pattinson with married director Rupert Sanders, had booked her first starring film role since her scandal made news. However, we’ve learned that these reports aren’t exactly true.
According to Vulture, Kristen, 22, had landed the lead role in an indie adaptation of William Styron’s 1951 novel, Lie Down In Darkness. However, a source close to the production of the film spoke to HollywoodLife.com EXCLUSIVELY, saying that while it’s entirely possible that this may happen, the production is nowhere near finalizing casting. “While it is exciting to see all the interest the project is generating, the film is still in the pre-production process and no offers to cast have been made as of yet,” our source says.
The part in question is Peyton Loftis, a role that is said to also be heavily coveted by Jennifer Lawrence. Describing the film, which takes place in 50s-era Virginia, Vulture says, “As part of a dysfunctional and disintegrating family, Peyton is constantly compared to her crippled sister, Maudie, and her intense physical beauty makes her the object of her frigid mother’s jealous hatred and the target of her father’s incestuous, alcoholic lust.”
Should she find herself cast, Lie Down In Darkness would go into production once Kristen is finished working on the indie thriller Cali.
What do you think, HollywoodLifers? Do you hope Kristen is cast in the film?

Remember everyone SHE told Catherine H. during casting SHE wanted to do the movie with Rob (Basically giving him a jump to fame.), she doesn’t use him for his money, he sees beauty in a “normal awkward” girl like her over some busty supermodel (“Plain” girls have a chance then.), and she doesn’t use him as arm candy, and doesn’t use him for fame.
I AM SURE NO MATTER HOW UPSET/MAD ROB IS AT HER HE WOULDN’T WANT PEOPLE BEING RUDE TO KRISTEN. So come on people!!!!
Hate the sin. Not the sinner.
I don’t love her, but I don’t hate her.
