Michael Phelps started out the 2012 Olympics with a thud as he failed to medal in the 400 IM Final on Saturday July 28.
While rival Ryan Lochte took home the first U.S. gold medal, Michael placed fourth, swimming from the outside eighth lane, after barely qualifying for the event earlier today.
Brazil’s Thiago Pereira took the silver, and Japan’s Kosuke Hagino claimed the bronze. Kosuke beat Michael by a barely comfortable 34-hundredths of a second for a spot on the podium.
What do YOU think, HollywoodLifers? Can Michael turn it around?

In fact I’m fed up about all that pesimistic comments!! He was wrong and it’s perfectly normal he feel all the pressure to do the perfect things… Besides, ryan lochte is an excellent swimmer but neither will never achieve that 29 phelps’ records nor the historical 8 beijing’s medals
