Rupert Sanders and Kristen Stewart’s affair is a mess for everyone involved.
And sadly, it may end up affecting his relationship with his children — with wife Liberty Ross — who are the ages of 5 and 7.
“The other problem is how they [the kids] will view their Dad. The rupture of trust in this is huge, so will they view their dad as someone who can’t be trusted?” says Dr. Susan Abbott, MD psychiatrist and private practicing Manhattan New York psychiatrist.
Another expert agrees.
“Rupert’s indiscretion will be confusing and upsetting to his kids, especially his 7-year-old daughter who will understand more and will be more upset that her daddy is giving his love and attention to another woman,” Carole Lieberman, M.D. celebrity psychiatrist and author of Bad Girls: Why Men Love Them & How Good Girls Can Learn Their Secrets tells HollywoodLife.com.
His kids emotional growth may be at risk, too.
“It can have effects on their self-esteem, depending on how the parents approach the situation,” Dr. Abbott tells HollywoodLife.com.
Experts told HollywoodLife.com that it’s important for Rupert and Liberty to explain to the kids that “daddy made a mistake” and that they still love each other.
“It’s important that they admit that there is some turbulence, but they’re working it out, they could say ‘Mommy and Daddy love each other and are working it out,’” Dr. Jeff Gardere, chief contributor to HealthGuru.com tells us.
However, if their relationship is full of fighting and bitterness, it may be best for the kids if they part ways.
“If it’s an atmosphere of fighting, bitterness and continue betrayal, then that’s an unhappy atmosphere and it’s worse for them to stay together,” Dr. Abbott tells us.
We really hope they can get through this difficult time — especially for the sake of their children.

Who I hate most is that DIRECTOR, NO BREEDING AT ALL.
He DIDNT ONLY RUIN HIS FAMILY AND CAREER, but also THE RELATIONSHIP and BOTH THE CAREERS OF ROB AND KRISTEN. If Rupert didnt show any motive of liking Kristen, then this should not have had happened. Kristen was so immature, young and HOT. I hope Kristen has had opened her mind and realizes those ugly actuations of hers. And i think this Director Sanders also ought to send in his PUBLIC APOLOGY to Rob and all of their fans.
