Mariah Carey Wants Third 'American Idol' Judge To Be Less Famous Than Her

Mariah has signed on to judge season 12 of ‘Idol’ to the tune of $18 million, and apparently the diva’s demands go far beyond the whopping salary!

Mariah Carey has stepped in to fill the stiletto shoes of American Idol‘s former resident diva, Jennifer Lopez, as she leaves the show after just two years. So who will replace the second judge departing, Steven Tyler? A source tells HollywoodLife.com exclusively that one thing is certain- Mariah is making sure that she is the show’s biggest star!

“It will be 110% someone less famous than Mariah Carey,” our source tells HollywoodLife.com, adding, “Mariah Carey wants to be the centerpiece of the new panel and the new look of the show and doesn’t want to be overshadowed whatsoever.”

It’s hard to even imagine that producers could find anyone more famous than the singer, who is one of the best-selling music artists of all time. While Mariah’s role as a judge is sure to excite audience members and show contestants, not everyone beyond-the-scenes is looking forward to the show’s new addition.

“Many are scared on set that she is going to be a major diva and are scared that it will be a nightmare to work with her expected demands,” says our source.

It seems both Mariah and producers alike agree that there can only be one diva on the show! At least we can always count on 11-time judge Randy Jackson, who is also Mariah’s manager, to keep his cool.

She’s a great singer, no doubt, but that doesnt mean she would make a great judge! IMO the only time worth watching the show are the tryouts, the rest is definately HOLLYWEIRD,

Mariah Carey has sold over 200 million records, she has a 7 octave vocal range, she has 18 number one singles, she is considered to be the only Diva left besides Whitney Houston R.I.P. she is an icon. She has five Grammys. I’m positive all the people u listen 2 look up to Mariah Carey. Compare Mariah Carey and Jennifer Lopez’s Vocal ability and see who comes out on top.

Mariah Carey is a musical genius!! She deserves to be an idol judge. Not only is she gonna be the most famous judge but she is probably the only one who can even judge people on singing. She is considered a Diva because of her unquestionable talent. At times she can act like a diva but u can not denie her talent. Mariah Carey is gonna go down in history as one of the greatest singers in the world. There is no one in this generation that can compare to what Whitney & Mariah had. All u haters need to Shutup!!!!

Hmmm… the show is supposed to be about the contestants, not the judges. She is way too full of herself and has a far too high sense of self-importance to let the contestants get the spotlight. The show will be all about Queen Mariah. Big mistake, Idol.
