The film’s star offers his ‘sincere sympathies’ to everyone affected by the recent massacre.

Everyone involved with The Dark Knight Rises was devastated to hear about the 71 people shot during a July 20 screening in Colorado, including Joseph Gordon-Levitt, who has now offered his condolences on Twitter. “My most sincere sympathies go out to the families of the victims in Aurora,” he tweeted July 23.

James Holmes, 24, has been accused of opening fire in the Aurora, Colo., theater, leaving 12 innocent people dead.
