Three days after surviving the attack, a woman went into labor while her husband is still fighting for his life — how tragic.
Katie Medley, 21, and her husband Caleb Medley, 23, were in the Aurora, Colorado theater where James Holmes opened fire during the midnight premiere of The Dark Knight Rises.
Katie was able to escape the theater uninjured, but unfortunately her husband was not as lucky. According to Katie’s father David Sanchez, Katie’s husband Caleb was shot in the head and is now in critical condition.
On July 23, Katie went into labor with the couple’s first child while her husband remains in critical condition.
While his daughter was in labor, Katie’s father waited outside the courthouse where James was being arraigned. He angrily told reporters that his pregnant daughter narrowly escaped death. He also added that the couple had been eagerly waiting for a year for the premiere of The Dark Knight Rises.
