
The family of James Holmes, the suspect in ‘The Dark Knight Rises’ shooting tragedy, released an official statement to the public. When ABC News spoke to Holmes’ mom, she said “you have the right person.”
James Holmes, 24, allegedly opened fire to a packed movie theater in Aurora, Colorado during a midnight screening of The Dark Knight Rises, killing 12 and wounding several dozen others. His family released a public statement:
“Our hearts go out to those who were involved in this tragedy and to the families and friends of those involved. We ask that the media respect our privacy during this difficult time. Our family is cooperating with authorities in both San Diego, California, and Aurora, Colorado. We are still trying to process this information and we appreciate that people will respect our privacy,” the statement read.
Our thoughts are also with the families of the victims.
