'Gossip Girl' Writers: Season 6 Must Be In Chuck & Blair's Favor

Thu, July 19, 2012 2:29pm EDT by 74 Comments

Fans who have watched ‘Gossip Girl’ from the beginning deserve a happy ending to the greatest love story of all time! Read on to find out why!

Chuck and Blair have had a tumultuous relationship, to say the least.

From saying “I love you” to being sold out for a hotel, Blair (Leighton Meester) has been hurt — and rightfully so B has been reluctant to let him back in her heart. But Chuck (Ed Westwick) has proved on several occasions that he’s a changed man. Plus, Blair has finally come into her own and is more confident about who she is than she’s ever been before.

With that being said, these final episodes must be in Chair’s favor. We’ve heard it begins Chuck’s hotel suite and we’re hoping it stays that way! They’ve had so many ups and downs that it’s time to give them a chance to be happy. No doubt the craziness of their relationship makes good TV, but so does their most romantic moments. Chuck and Blair truly are the greatest love story told of all time!

The producers said that Chuck and Blair are never over back in September 2011.

“Chuck and Blair are never over,” Josh Safran said, reassuring us. ”It’s a very torturous relationship for both of them and I think in a weird way, sometimes people love that torture and sometimes people can’t stand that torture — I think that’s going to be sort of the balance.”

But we are done with the torture! We want a Chair wedding!

Chuck understands B more than anyone else does. He is her true love. They have a history together, she lost her virginity to him and he was the first girl he ever said “I love you” to. Blair and Chuck are inarguably the most right for each other couple out there

And despite their relationships with other men and women, it’s always been the two of them. Even when Blair was pregnant with Louis’ baby — she wished Chuck was the father.

“There was a part of me that really wanted it to be yours,” she told Chuck, as a tear streamed down his face. She even admitted that her royal fairytale wasn’t all a bed of roses. “This fairytale is complicated,” she said to Chuck.

Well, this fairytale’s clock is ticking!

Gossip Girl writers, enough with the back and forth. Have this season end (or begin!) with a Chair wedding — it’s what we’ve all been waiting for!

XOXO

I started watching Gossip Girl from the very beginning. I must say, at first I was a little startled but I’ve quickly fallen in love with them and will NOT settle for Louis. Chuck has endured enough pain without the loss of Blair and it’s clear that she’s the only person who can keep him happy. Enough with the back and forth and give us a wedding! Obviously they’re meant to be together

I would love for other characters to carry the drama in the final season. Let Chuck and Blair finally be happy. Why not give Nate a freakin’ story?

Nate needs something, I feel like Chuck and Blair are the center of Gossip Girl, I would like to see them end up together but I would also like to see Serena, Nate and Dan find love too. Charlie needs to go, so over her and her lying game

Damn they look sexy in that picture. The final season better make up for the Chuck and Blair sex drought. Season five was the worst.

Nice article Nicole. Totally agree. I would love to see a Chuck and Blair wedding in the final season on Gossip Girl. It’s the only thing that makes sense

It’s definitely time to marry them off. No more breaking them up. They would have been married 14 episodes ago if the writers hadn’t decided to mess with them some more!

This was such a great article. I can tell you actually watch the show. I’m amazed by the people that claim Chuck hasn’t changed when he spent all last season dealing with the kind of junk that made him act out in the past (like losing Blair to another man or insane family drama) and by and large handling these situations really maturely. He wasn’t perfect but he’s definitely a changed man. I also agree that Blair is more confident by season end. She’s ready to take on the world with Waldorf Designs. She isn’t even remotely weak anymore. Being vulnerable to the person you love because you love them so much isn’t weakness. That’s having a deep love. It’s weak to run away from that and hide out in marriages and relationships with men that care more for you than you for them. That’s what she did all last season. But at the end of last season both Chuck and Blair were at great spots in their lives and ready to embark on a relationship with each other again. I think the writers did a great job showing this and I’m excited for season 6.

lol. You are so right. Plus they don’t have to get naked to be sexy. That’s a sign of real chemistry.

LOL I just said something similar. They really sizzle, don’t they? It’s all in a look, a tone of voice. They don’t need porno-y face sucking sex scenes to be hot.

I am holding Stephanie Savage to her words. When asked why Chuck and Blair can’t just be together she said they had to save things for “the finish line” when it comes to Chuck and Blair. Please make the finish line worth the journey Stephanie and Josh (v1.0. Not Safran, lol. Glad his Dan Humphrey loving self has gone on to Smash. lol)

I love this article. I just wanted to correct one thing though. Chuck has never said “I love you” to anyone but Blair. So Blair isn’t just the first girl he said it to. She’s the only girl he said it to. You can’t say that about any of the other characters on the show. Say what you will about Chuck but he’s only loved one person and that’s Blair <3

I soooo agree with this article. It’s time to stop the drama between Chuck and Blair and finally give the fans of the show a satisfying ending to their story. Nothing less than a Chairytale will do!

I’d actually like the season to BEGIN with a Chair wedding. Then give us 10 episodes of them working together instead of letting their personal issues make them work against one another. Chuck has really grown as a character. He finally lives up to what Blair told him in 3.12 “You’re becoming a man in a way your father never was.” Blair is finally over her fairytales and she now knows what it’s like to walk in Serena’s shoes. I think it makes sense storyline wise for them to be able to make it as a couple.

I’m tired of the drama between Chuck and Blair. I don’t see why the writers cannot write them as a happy couple like they did in early season 3 – but this time without sticking them in the background. We only have 10 episodes left. Give the fans what they want: Chuck and Blair as a scheming, sexy, supportive power couple. As I said, basically early season 3 with more sex and actually in the foreground instead of stuck in the back while the writers inflict Brooklyn and NYU on the viewers.

Great article Nicole. I agree that season 6 looks to be in our favor. We’ve been through a lot as a fandom. Almost as much as Chuck and Blair have as a couple and individual characters! It’s only right that Chuck, Blair and the fans get their Chairytale ending.

I love your article! We deserve our Chairytale ;)
Season 5 was such a mess and they totally lost the faith of the audience. Hopefully season 6 returns us the characters we love and we can enjoy the final season for what it should be.

Agreed. Season 5 was a hot mess of out of character horribleness, destruction of core relationships and a whole lot of “misdirection” (which only serves to piss off fans.) No wonder the ratings did a nosedive. Different isn’t always better and season 5 proved that in spades. I’m glad Schwartz and Savage are back for the final season. Only they can redeem the mess Safran made.

Love it ,Nicole! And agree, the writers kind of owe it to the Chuck and Blair fans, especially after how terrible last season was so I hope they actually reward fans the Josh Schwartz way not the 100th episode Safran way. And I so want Chuck and Blair to be the couple that got married!

The writers wasted too much time keeping chuck and blair apart so they HAVE TO get them back together happy for once.We have more than enough with the drama, it was annoying they went too far with it in season 5

I agree. They went too far last season. I don’t know what they were smoking but season 5 was a mess of epic proportions. Only Chuck and Nate came out of the season looking better. Dan, Blair, Serena, Lily and Rufus were all damaged by the terrible storylines.

Yep. Season 5 was a nightmare. I’m glad it ended in a good place though. I’m looking forward to more Chuck & Blair, Serena & Blair, (hopefully) Serena & Nate, and NJBC in the final season.
